HCL Domino Ideas Portal

Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Add a possibility to include LotusScript into xPages

Benefit: use existing code in (existing and new) applications independently of the usage of xPages or native design elements. The goal is to write code once and use it at different places.

Please note (written after first comments) that this idea/request has neither to do with learning Java nor LotusScript. There exists thousands of applications using heavy usage of LotusScript (usually also existing longer than xPage available in Notes/Domino). If you have to modernise such an application it would be a great benefit to use existing libraries written in LotusScript also in xPages (and not to rewrite the code).

Alternative: With LS2J you have the opportunity to use Java in LotusScript, Java is also accessible by xPages. Therefore a possible transition is a one way conversion of LotusScript code to Java (or JavaScript?) usable in xPages and other Notes design elements, e.g. to include this same converted Code in LotusScript-Agent AND in Buttons on Forms AND in SSJS libraries.

I don‘t need this, but an ANTLR4 grammar for LotusScript would be good to parse the language and build something ourselves.

    >> conversion of LotusScript to Java

the documentation is a good starting point . HCL/IBM cannot do the job of learning new things for you.
