Add support for Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS +

Ubuntu is so much easier to handle than CentOS or Redhat and it just works great. It would be nice to have official support for this OS.

    With CentOS alienating their community, forcing traditionally downstream releases to be an upstream beta test for RedHat, really has left a bad taste in ISP and Hosting Providers mouths.

    I would love to see Domino be supported on Ubuntu or even in a Docker container that way it could be OS agnostic. (well docker OS agnostic)

    One of my big customer in the telecom industry is using ubuntu Linux server for container environment so I want HCL Domino to support ubuntu server for docker / k8s container in Korea.

    sehe ich ganz genau so... es ist aufwand! und es ist toll als client OS
    aber nicht einfach zu handlen als server ...

    und es ist ne menge test aufwand .. es ist anders als CentOS

    It took us years to get CentOS officially supported!
    And it is a lot of work to get a new platform supported and keep it supported!

    In case of CentOS it is basically the same from source code than RHEL which is once of the supported enterprise Linux versions.

    So it was easy for IBM/HCL to add it as a supported platform from the technical side in a certain way as described in this technote:

    Ubuntu LTS is a stable release but it is quite different than SLES and RHEL from the release.

    I don't agree that IBM/HCL should spend time on adding another Linux platform!

    CentOS isn't that difficult to install and manage. I agree that there isn't a great admin UI like we have in SLES but it's a great enterprise ready OS!

    IMHO the time and effort is better invested in other areas!
