Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated jointly by the IBM & HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Make ICAA independent from Domino Mail

Customer may use ICAA for Notes apps and another system for mail. Selecting the ICAA mail icon (envelope) always tries to open a URL on a Domino server, which does not exist and hence a misleading error is presented to the end-user (Domino mail services are not configured, indeed, think about Utility server licensing).

This request is for an option to configure the mail icon in ICAA for a third party mail client (and the IMSMO client). Preferred option would be to utilize the Windows registry, so that the OS default mail client would be launched.

    does this work for you? add below in icaa notes.ini

    INOTES_REDIRECTOR_PATH=gmail.com

    if domino mail is not enabled, you can disable the mail toolbar icon/File-Open-mail menu using

    BrowserAllowiNotesMail=0

    unfortunately still appears on home page. But you could modify this in bookmark.ntf to open the right mail url. ICAA is integrated with IMSMO, so if IMSMO is installed, it should open Outlook for mail.
