It is important to take into account that Spring/Spring Boot, while widely supported, are not the only Java framework in use today - we are using Quarkus and still others are using Micronaut or pure Java EE.
I think it would be wiser to provide support for existing Java standards, such as JPA via Hibernate or other suitable provider. That way all of the above frameworks would be able to benefit, not only Spring.
