Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated jointly by the IBM & HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

For more information and upcoming events around #dominoforever, please visit our Destination Domino page.

Go back to a Domino-based app for taking this feedback

Being that IBM is in the software industry and have everything you need to build a website like this, why are you using aha.io?  There are many features in this that we already had in the Domino-based website called http://ideajam.net that was created more than a decade ago and has most if not all of the functionality of this website and additional features as well, like Top Innovators.  If you don't , then you're failing at the whole purpose of Notes/Domino: the ability to rapidly create a workflow app at a lower TCO than buying a 3rd party app.

I agree.  The filtering, searching do not work as expected.  After you search there isn't a way to clear your search.  The filtering on the left side shows a count that doesn't add up and shows different results without an explanation.

I’d argue that by merit a 10yr old app is not likely the best one to do this exercise - by definition. Also reverting those 10-ur old suggestions is a viable fresh-start - afterall, it was 10yrs ago and many things thankfully have evolved.

That said, indeed this tool is more that slightly lightweight on forum features and a proven one on the market - that has also been used by ibm developerworks is answerhub.com .. which allows for a much better feature set. (It also was the base app for Atlassian forums in their big appDev and growth uptick.. it is a viral forum and community builder app with a much richer feature set than this).

@David : Take a look at the main website of Aha ( https://www.aha.io ) or take a tour to see the platform features ( https://www.aha.io/product/overview ), then you'll know why we have decided to use Aha.io instead of using the well known ideajam template.

@Thomas Hampel: I believe the original intent was more about "using your own tools" than using the IdeaJam template in particular.  You're trying to push Domino as low/no code again, so why wouldn't you take the best from IdeaJam and aha.io and roll your own version?  Let's face it, there is at least one company out there still gunning to end Notes/Domino and they won't hesitate to point out that this site isn't using the platform you're pushing.  As someone once said, perception is everything.  Given the relatively short amount of time between HCL coming on board and releasing a new version of Domino, people would probably give you a pass for using an existing tool for the short term while you focused efforts on platform improvement.  I would strongly suggest that you consider using Domino to replicate, and hopefully improve, this site ASAP after V10 rolls out.  It would send a great message and show people what can be done with the product.
