Support Read only access during Notes installation or upgrade

There is situation where companies (like Bank for example) need to set user access to Read Only for Legal reasons.

This situation is not supported currently in case you need to upgrade the Notes client of such user (either by a normal upgrade or by keeping the user data and make a silent installation of the new Notes client version).

Errors are triggered when the user will start his Client for the first time with read only access after the installation is finished as Profile fields are unable to be updated in his mail database.

It would be good to handle this scenario in future versions or to provide a supported workaround.

    I am confused, do you read read only access to my (current) mail file or read only access to my local computer ? And why do you need to upgrade my Notes Client if I only have read only access to my personal mail file ? I think I am missing something important here, but maybe you should use mail-in database instead of personal mail file ?
