In some cases, radio buttons should work when a document is in read mode.

Radio buttons only function when the document is in edit mode.  This means a user with Read access to the form can't use them.

For example, when a radio button is used to change the way a form displays, a user with read access can't change the display.

There should be a field property that allows the Designer to designate that a radio button will work in read mode.

The same argument could be used for checkbox and other field types as well.

Does it have to be a radio button ? Would a hotspot link achieve the same purpose ? IMHO there are alternate UI element for that selection, but bigger issue is how to render the form change since it would require reloading the form (assuming this is a Notes client application) and you cannot set a flag within the document due to read only restriction.
