Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated jointly by the IBM & HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Mail addressing - server first

When sending mail, validate addresses from server address book first.  Only check local address book if no match found on server.

    Just add in notes.ini on the client following parameter:

    TYPEAHEADSHOWSERVERFIRST=1

    Two other parameters that can be added are:  $ServerMailAddressing=1 and TypeaheadShowServerFirstDefault=1. See https://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/New_Type-ahead_Feature_in_Notes_v9

    Turns out TYPEAHEADSHOWSERVERFIRST=1 changes lookup behavior causing user complaints.  Without this setting, users could type 1 character and get address suggestions.  With the setting they get nothing until they type 3 characters.  Doesn't sound like a big deal but I sure got a lot of calls.  I would like this to do a server lookup on the first character entered.
