Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated jointly by the IBM & HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Support Disaster Recovery for Traveler without any changes in the client's device settings

As stated in this technote

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSYRPW_9.0.1/disasterrecovery.html

Today only HA (High Availability) is supported

And the possible DR is very painfull for the users.

Could you elaborate why the current High Availability setting does not work for you ? Please do bear in mind that from a technical point of view a pair of database, a set of domino server and some sort of load balancer (to redirect the HTTP traffic) are needed.

The database which Traveler is using does only store session information, it does not store actual mail data. So in case of a database outage with data loss, all data still is preserved because it is stored in the Domino based mail file. Is there still a need for DR ?

Domino does DR nicely for mail.  DR for mobile access is vital.

Traveler does not deliver this feature.  Resynchronize all deviced when the DR is enabled is not a feasible solution.   Imagine 10.000 devices doing this at the same time

I opened a PMR about this issue.  Simply, not supported.  Words from L3.  It is not supported to setup a Traveler pool across the WAN.

We made up a non supported sollution for Traveler DR.
