HCL Domino Ideas Portal

Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Return Receipt Prompt

As of now, it is not possible to prompt HCL Verse users if they want to send (acknowledge) the mail return receipt. Please add a policy setting that will allow the administrators to configure how the return receipts will be handled by the Vese on-premises client, one viable policy setting would be:

Prompt Users for acknowledging the return receipt:

  • Yes

    • (Optional Checkbox) Only if the E-Mail is coming from an external address/sender (accept automatically for internal addresses/senders)

  • No

    • (Possibility 1) Acknowledge the return receipt automatically.

    • (Possibility 2)Reject the return receipt automatically.

Option 3 Remove any implementation of this "return receipt" because it solves no problem. I still do not understand why people insist on having this useless feature. As a recipient, I always choose not to comfirm that I have received this mail. And everyone I ask does exactly the same. What does a return receipt tell you? That the mail has been received? But has it been read? If a recipient does not exist or is unavailable, you will get notifications. And some people ignore even these notifications. If you want to be sure that someone has received an important document, provide a secure download application where you can track exactly that. But email is not the place for that.
