Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated jointly by the IBM & HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Let us break out of the endless email loop to collaborative conversation

If Verse would allow to transform a mail thread into a forum discussion, we could save a ton of emails while nothing gets lost.

Other possibilities to leave the mail trap of forward and reply:

- save as EML to community files

- post to community blog (with attachments)

- post as forum question (with attach...)

- post as forum answer (with...)

- post as a comment to a blog entry

- save attachments to community files

- post mail body and attachments to Watson Workspace

all these possibilities would help to get a complete documentation of your project inside of a community and to switch from email-trees to conversational streams.

Transforming a mail thread into a discussion forum is easier said than done. Mail threads typically contain mails from many different people, who are not necessarily users on Connections or Watson Workspace. So when bringing stuff over from the mail system, under which identity should the "new" posts in the discussion thread or Workspace conversation be created...the sender of the original mail, the mail recipient, or a functional ID? What about time stamps?

I would like to see all of the other possibilities that were suggested above. However, this integration should not be limited to the Verse Web UI. It should also work in the Notes client and in the Verse mobile apps.
