Another one needing this. Sometimes employees can be writing on behalf of one subsidiary; on others days for another. The law increasingly requires clear disclosure of which entity one is representing. Notes isn't up to the job of modern day communication in a multi unit business without an ability to switch quickly between email signatures.

    Definitely worth doing.
    Microsoft Outlook has it.

I do like the Reply signature option--which I make leaner to keep a thread more concise. But agree with this thread we need other sig file options as well.

You should be able to specify several signatures (or signature files) and have a quick way to select which one to use both for new mail and for replies.

Based on the feedback provided here, taking this idea back into progress in order to improve the feature in one of the next releases.

Please let the signature follow the "Location document" in the personal NAB. Then it will be possible to have unlimit signatures.

Shipped? Now we have only 2 signature

    1: for new memo

    1: for reply

The user need to select one of may signature dinamically as MS Outlook where you can have until 10 different sigantures..

Different signatures for New message and for Reply/Forward is not an idea solution. We need a number 'Default' signatures, that store in mail file in RTF format, and we want quick select any of them during compose a message.

Hi HCL .. It is great to get an email saying the idea has shipped, even better would be how a customer can access it?

Also detail of what has changed .. is it a notes template, or does it affect Verse users only etc.

    Thanks in advance

All of these are great suggestions outside of the possibility that you now have enabled end users to create their own email address too, no?  In our situation, we've unfortunately had to make separate accounts for those who needed a second email address, and they will switch browsers to use the 2nd address.  In addition,  we host multiple companies in a single Domino Domain.  We differentiate the companies via a separate /O=.  It's okay in our business case as we are all part of the same holding entity and everyone is happy to reach each other from Sametime, etc.).  There are, however, things to consider since currently Domino handles signatures differently from the client, the web (iNotes) and mobile devices, AND seemingly a central change made on the Domino Server Config (with respect to general disclaimers).   We're using a 3rd party tool currently that addresses this for everything, and it actually would make possibly the most sense for HCL to partner with said company to make this a part of Domino (we paid to customize this for multiple O's to prevent one company from having another company's logo, etc.).  Said company is focusing more on hosted solutions, and possibly (speaking from common sense, not inside knowledge) might be agreeable to license the offering for core Notes/Domino offerings to keep their product alive whilst they focus on the cloud, even if it was a dumbed down version with them licensing the full package.  Would be a win win for everyone.

1.Stationary documents do not work in replies, in forward, in VOP, in IBM Verse on mobile device. Easy 1 or 2 click to select preferred signature and preferred from address is a must.  Users need to changes signatures often: one for English, another for local language, another for 2 other languages. Current functionality is really really from the previous century. Look how it is easy on Outlook and compare how much job user must do in IBM Notes, in iNotes, in VOP, in IBM Verse.

    2. There should be possibility to enforce signatures by administrator from simple .nsf file. Administrator should be able to import prepared signatures to centralized location and to push those signatures to IBM Domino so that all clients (including Notes, iNotes, VOP and IBM Verse) would be able to use those signatures.

We have users that need two differents signatures for internal and external (client/suppliers). The tell me that in  Microsoft outlook you can configure many signatures

I believe there is more to this than just a different signature block.  It's also to see that the 'From' (outbound SMTP) also is using the desired email address itself.  We have a number of users who handle different job functions for multiple companies (different email domain).   So today the employee may need to be visible as both  jsmith@companyA.com and jsmith@companyB.com   Currently Domino uses the Internet Address value from the person document.   While the local Client may have the ability to switch locations/companies/IDs its a training curve, and we don't like the idea of letting a user override the server's person document for an internet address.   Furthermore, will this even work in iNotes?  We typically just register the user a second time and append the company to the last name, and the user may use a full client for their primary work address for Company A, and then switch to iNotes when needing to send on behalf of Company B.   Difficulties arise when using a browser only to access iNotes - we've found that 2 different browsers are needed to operate in ths mode.  Products like Crossware do not fix the 'From' outbound SMTP address.   And while if meant to solve a challenge for the same company/domain, even then some rules would need to be created and called for by the sender to have the secondary signature applied.

Prefer to see sig file formatting fixed for internal and externally bound email.  That's to say sig layout may have 2 variants for external and 2 variants for internal and the sig variant applied depends on a group membership.  In a nutshell, most users don't get to mess with font, pitch, layout, colour or content with relevant detail taken from their person document automatically to fill in Role / dept etc.  Maybe a fifth group for the real oddballs who need to set a sig manually but in general disable the sig creation function for most staff so as to promote and present a consistant message to all external contacts, set up by admins and only changed at the behest of the Marketing dept.

Being able to set a signature for messages going external vs. internal is what we would like to have.

Is the request to allow more signatures to be available for the user to pick from? Like create a signature folder under Tools for the user to create alternate signatures and pick any of them? Will that work?

In V10 we are supporting multiple signatures, one for new messages and a different one for reply/forwards

you can already do that. Not an easy and smart way but open a new mail and then click on "signature". Otherwise there are some great and affordable products (such as Crossware) that can do that work in a fantastic way!
